Job Description JOB DUTIES: Report to the Director of Engineering, Information Technology Operations (ITO). Provide support in the areas of change and problem management, deployment services, version control, scheduling, operations, system monitoring and technical support across all environments and platforms. Assist and support the review, development, and implementation of strategies that preserve the integrity, availability, stability and scalability of ETL systems. Work with the internal and external teams to assist and implement innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to architectural goals and principles. Work directly with other teas in ITO to create, review, and implement operational tasks for software upgrades and outages. Perform ongoing corrective and preventative maintenance to improve reliability and availability for systems managed by Engineers. Assist in the preparations of proposals, reports, architectures, designs, specifications, and operational documentation. Support Teradata systems backup using Netbackup and other internally developed software/hardware solutions. Support basic UNIX scripting and operational tasks. Work directly with resources from Networking, Information Security and other support teams to setup and configure new systems and troubleshoot issues with existing systems. Work with remote teams and onsite teams to support application software. Support Ab Initio, Informatica, ETL tools within organization. Perform training and be on-call to investigate batch job failures due to operational issues and assist in restoring functionality. Work with internal ticketing systems to resolve tickets for requested work on systems. Work with other teams to configure setup and upgrade software installed on systems such as ODBC drivers on UNIX and Windows platform and other client applications. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the Job Offered or three (3) years of experience in software engineering or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field and five (5) years of progressive experience in the Job Offered or five (5) years of progressive experience in software engineering. SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENT: Experience must include the following: Unix/Windows; Oracle; C++; and Java. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
